Psalm 56:3
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

Fear is a natural human reaction to danger. We have many things that causes fear to raise its ugly head: lack of money, deteriating health, lack of security in many aspects of life, etc. The list could go on and on. When fear is squeezing you into despair, trust the Lord. God does not tell us to ignore our fears, but to bring them to Him.

In His Word Wednesday: Ezekiel 28:17

Ezekiel 28:17
Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

What made Lucifer into the devil? Pride. He forgot that any wisdom and beauty and splendor he had came as a gift from God. These gifts are to reflect God's glory and not our own.

In a world that feeds our pride, we must beware of this same deadly mistake. To some it may be our physical appearance, our possessions, our accomplishments, or for us crafters, our creations. Take a moment to give thanks to God for the gifts you have.

In His Word Wednesday: 1 Samuel 16:7

1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at the appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

Evan a godly man like Samuel could not help but judge man's character by his appearance. This is why we must continually go to the Lord in His wisdom; only He sees the heart.
