In His Word Wednesday: Romans 11:29

As I find myself in a discussion over "once saved always saved," I wonder why some people struggle with this. I think of what Jesus did for me (and all of you), by sacrificing Himself on the cross for my sins, and I find myself humbled and wanting to show Him my gratitude. I feel the need to turn away from my sin and try to live a life pleasing to Him. After salvation, we all will slip up and fall into sin, but when we do, we should have great remorse and want to repent.

When we truly love someone, we want to please them. Salvation in about a life change, not just saying the words and then going back to the way you were living. I don't, and never have thought "I'm saved, now I can do anything I want." If you have these thoughts, take time to re-examine your heart.

Romans 11:29
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Once you have placed your faith in Him, God will never cast you away. He will never abandon you, reject you, or turn you away. As a loving Father, He will discipline you, but He will never throw you away.

Product Review: Dachshund Beanie

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

As I was searching for new Dachshund items on Etsy, I came across the adorable beanie with a Dachshund crocheted on it. I "favorited" the item with the intention of purchasing it over the weekend. When I went to my "favorites" and discovered the beanie had sold, I was severely disappointed. I mean what better way to represent my love for the breed than on a beanie. I contacted Jan at bitknit, to see if she would be making more or if she would make a custom hat in the colors I wanted. I was thrilled when she said she could make a custom one for me. We conversed a few times getting the color down. She was very willing to do what I wanted. I requested a dark pink or fuchsia, with a brown or grey Dachshund.
I receive the beanie faster than I expected for a custom order. It came in a bubble mailer and wrapped in tissue.
It also included a tag with care instructions.
Here's my adorable hat. She even added a cute little blue collar on the Dachshund.
The little Dachshund wraps around the hat.
I totally love my little Dachshund beanie. The color is wonderful and matches this sweater jacket that I purchase a few days before receiving it. I would highly recommend bitknit. Jan is wonderful to work with, her prices are great, and her workmanship is excellent. I think I need to order another one in neutral colors...lol.

In His Word Wednesday: 1 Samuel 1:18

I love the story of Samuel. As time pasted, Hannah grew more bitter in her soul. She would weep and stop eating in her grieving. Hannah longed for a child but the Lord had close her womb. One day she wept in anguish and prayed to the Lord, vowing if she had a son, she would give him to the Lord all the days of his life. Eli, the prophet, watched her as she prayed with her lips moving with no sound. He thought she was drunk and confronted her as she rose to leave. She was not drunk, but a woman who was pouring her soul out to the Lord.  Then Eli said "go in peace and may the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him."

1 Samuel 1:18
And she said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight." So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

Hannah left behind her grief, not when her circumstances changed-they hadn't-but after she poured out her soul to the Lord. Because of her grief, she connected with the Lord on a level she had never known.
