Product Review: Small Animal Heated Pad

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

I've recently had a hedgehog that was trying to hibernate. In order to discourage this behavior, it is recommended to increase the room temperature. The area my hedgehogs stay in maintains a 72 degree temperature, which is okay, but at the lower end of the temperatures they like. It is recommended that they be kept at a temperature between 72-82 degrees.

I have 3 other hedgehogs, and none are trying to hibernate. The first thing I did was moved all their cages to a corner, and increase the room temperature a few degrees. I then got on my computer to search for cage warmers. I love Amazon, with their variety and great prices. In my search, I was looking for safety, temperature control, and not too big. That's when I found this...
A K&H Heated Resting Pad for small animals.  I always look a the ratings and read the reviews. This one had 4 1/2 stars. It's made specifically for small animals, can be used indoors or outdoors, and is safe. Having an internal thermostat makes it energy efficient. This pad warms when something is laying on it.
Made of a hard plastic, it is durable and easy to clean. It also has a coated cable to prevent chewing of the cords. The size is 9" x 12", perfect for what I was looking for. My Lucy, loves it!
A cover can also be purchased to fit this pad, but I don't need it with the hedgies sleeping in a Cozy Sak.
Just like people, hedgehogs like a variety of temperatures. Little Lucy, is now a happy hedgie.

Product Review: Fish Dog Tag

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

A few months ago, I purchase new collars and harnesses for two of my Dachshunds. I had already found a new dog tag for Dinky, but I wanted something different for Toby. Then I came across Dog Tag Art. They have a lot of super funny and cute dog tags.
After purchase, I receive my tag promptly. It arrived in a mailer envelope and was securely attached to a cute card. The front of the tag has a cute fish on it to match Toby's new collar.
The back has the important info (I blacked out my phone #'s). The tag is well made and seems to be scratch proof. It comes with a sturdy ring for attaching to the collar.
Here's a closeup of the new tag on Toby's fish collar...too cute.

I am very pleased with this tag. It is well made, a great price (cheaper than those tag making machines at pet stores), and very cute. I need to purchase new tags for their harnesses now, so I plan to purchase from Dog Tag Art again.

Product Review: Another Lip Balm

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

I know your saying "lip balm again!", but I really have an obsession with dry lips. I'm striving to find that perfect lip balm that's not too waxy or greasy, a nice pleasant scent, is good for my lips, and doesn't contain nut oils.

I was searching for a gift for a young (she's 19) friend of mine and decided to buy her a lip balm holder like the one I have (Lip Balm Pouch). Of course, I didn't want to give her the holder empty, so off I go to find some lip balm. I always search for coconut lip balm because I just love the smell of coconut (can't stand to eat it though), that's when I found Country Blossom. This store offers a variety (lots of variety is very important to me) of lip balms, lotions, candles, soaps, etc. The prices were good also. I was attracted to the coconut peach flavor. The first thing I look at now (because of my BIG mistake with purchasing my last lip balm) is the ingredients. I looked at the entire page from top to bottom. After my close, almost anal inspection, I purchase two balms, coconut peach for me and strawberry lemonade for my friend.
They arrive promptly in a bubble mailer and Ziploc bag.
These balms are made using beeswax, olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E oil, and flavoring oil. You would think with all that oil, they would be super greesy or slimy, but they are not. Mine keeps my lips super soft and the smell is delicious. I will purchase balms from this store again.

My friend said her gift raised her status to "super cool" because none of her friends have a cute balm holder and yummy strawberry lemonade balm. You gotta love kids!

Product Review: Hair Bow

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

There is this wonderful young lady at my church who has the most beautiful blond curly hair. In order to keep it out of her face, she pulls it back on one side with a hair bow. I don't think I have ever seen her with out one and it always matches her outfit. I also know that her favorite animal is giraffes. When I was creating a treasury on Etsy, I came across this adorable giraffe hair bow by Mommy's Little Princess. So I texted her mom to see if she had one, the answer was no. I had to order this bow for her.
My package was shipped quickly, coming to my house within the week. When I opened the package two small items wrapped in pink tissue came out.
I opened one which contained the bow I ordered and a business card. The bow was well made and secure on the clip. It is a good size too, not too bulky or over-powering.
The second package contained a free gift, a small felt flower barrette. It is cute and well made also. I appreciate the free gift, but it is too "little girly" for the young lady who is 17 years old. Fortunately, she has a little sister who is 5 years old, so I passed the gift along. I also gave her the business card since she may want to purchase more bows.

This purchase was a pleasant experience and I would purchase from again...if I had girls.

Product Review: Dog Tag

I'm always purchasing different items, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on my purchases. And what better place to share my opinion than my blog...

October was Dinky's birthday and one of his gifts was a new dog tag. There are so many wonderful handmade tags on Etsy, it was very hard to choose until I came across this one by The Happy Chihuahua.
It seemed like it took forever to receive this, but it does say "allow 1-2 weeks for delivery." I was just anxious to get it. However, it didn't make it in time for Dink's birthday. Anyway, the tag arrived in this cute little drawstring bag.
You can see why I fell in love with this tag...Dinky is "Mommy's angel." I love the colors and the cute little angel dog too. I black out my phone number if anyone is wondering what the big black mark is.
Here's his tag attached to Dink's new collar he got too. This tag is large, heavy and very well made, unlike other tags I have purchased. Even the attachment ring is super nice and stronger than other rings I've had. I thought the tag was a little pricey, but after seeing the quality, I'm very happy with my investment.
Here's Dinky modeling his new color and tag. You can see the tag is very large, so I'm going to put it on the new harness I just ordered him. Now I'm headed back over to the The Happy Chihuahua to find a bit smaller tag for my precious Dink.
