With so much awful things happening in the world and to each of us each day, it's easy to get discouraged. As I battle with my own struggles in life this verse comes to mind:
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11.
It's easy for me to get overwhelmed with stories broadcasted on the news, family problems, health problems, financial problems...the list could go on and on...and wonder what did I do to deserve this? Why is this happening to me?
I am reminded in this verse that God is for us, not against us! God often uses trials in our lives for greater blessings. Even in times of great disappointment, He has our best in mind. He knows how he wants to use that hardship for our benefit. God also wants us to see Him as our only source of salvation and blessings. After all, we live in a fallen world so disappointment are gonna happen.
Charles Stanley says, "When you feel tempted to yield to discourgement, go to God in prayer. Tell Him all you are feeling. Ask Him to reveal His will and plan."
