Most every week I come across the verse I want to share with you days before, but today I am without verse. Not having to work today due to the rain, my son, Zach, sits down at the table and grabs my Bible. He said he wanted to find the verse for today.
Psalm 27:11
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When you are a child of God, you don't need to be afraid of the dark when the Lord gives you His light. You don't need to fear the power of enemies when you walk in the power of God's Spirit.
I'm so thankful that Zach knows where his strength comes from.
This reminds me of one of the kids I nanny for. They were getting a new fireplace put in their basement, and she was very afraid that their house would burn down. A couple days later she started singing this song; "trust in the lord, trust in the lord, trust in the lord in your heart." that she made up, and I think it really helped her deal with her fear. Very sweet.
ReplyDeleteYou are so blessed to have your son desire to find your scripture! My son blesses me with his childlike faith, because it is so simple to believe on the Lord Jesus. We then have to live it. Your scripture helps us do that with such a wonderful promise.
