We are smothered in a world that feeds on physical beauty. I am constantly seeing billboards, commercials, and television shows, with what society considers beautiful people. It can be a bit over-whelming at times. We all want to feel accepted and attractive to someone. This causes us to struggle with our self image and worth.
But let me tell you, even in Biblical times, mankind was often judged by his/her looks. The prophet Samuel was reprimanded by God for judging a man by his appearance. If Samuel, a godly man, judged by appearance, what does that say about the rest of us? Do you judge or are you being judged by appearance?
There is One who does not judge on outward appearances...
1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
If your being judged by your appearance, take comfort in knowing that your Heavenly Father loves and created you just the way you are.
If you tend to judge others by their outward appearance, ask God for wisdom in seeing past their exterior.
