It got me to thinking how would one be considered courageous? Are we courageous? Why am I, and many others, standing around letting all the things that we don't approve happen? It was one person who got prayer taken out of schools...and we let it. There are many more things happening in this world that we need to take a stand against with courage.
A courageous person is someone who knows where their strength comes from. If the Almighty God is your God, then you should have courage. God calls us to be courageous...
2 Chronicles 32:7-8
"Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles."
We have to realize that we can not win our battles in our own strength. God has to be with us or we will suffer defeat.
In fact, there are many Scriptures from God's Word that shows us God induced courage. One of my favorite is when David tells Goliath "you come at me with sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of Lord of hosts..." (1 Samuel 17:45). David knew where his strength would come from. And in trusting in his God, he defeated Goliath with a small stone and a sling.
Next week, I'll discuss a sure fire way win your battles...

Courageous
Great post. I think having your blog and spreading the word makes you courageous. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle. I would like to think I'm doing what God has called me to do, but I know I still have a lot to learn.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great song. And your word is very timely. So much in the world that is wrong. I think lack of organization as a body to fight is part of the problem. But certainly we can all practice courageous living on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post! It's always nice put that positive energy of greatness out there. We can all use a little help.
