In His Word Wednesday: 2 Corinthians 5:10

In this age, the principle of accountability runs strongly against the grain of the population. The concept of being accountable to one another for our conduct is almost unheard of.

Accountability provides us with checks and balances. Let's face it, no one likes to admit our failings, but submitting to an individual that you hold in high esteem provides a win-win situation. This improves our performance and keeps us from taking advantage of our freedom.

Remembering our ultimate accountability is with the Lord, should be our incentive for holiness and obedience.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

"Becoming a Christian does not relieve us of personal responsibility. Although our sins have been forgiven through Christ's sacrifice, we still are responsible for our behavior. What we do on earth matters!"

  1. Accountability is certainly an aspiration (for most, alas,) that is worth striving for. Agree with these sentiments wholeheartedly!

  2. So true! I have a saying...
If all you do, would HE be proud of you?"

    Certainly applies to everyone!

    Have a blessed day!

  3. So good! I have told all 7 of my kids, "Freedom is living responsibly within the boundaries, not doing what you want." And, "If we do not govern ourselves, someone else will." Too bad the government doesn't believe in these truths.
